Heres my deal: My rents have a machine that simply wont boot. Fans spin when you power it up, no video, no beeps, etc. I have tried a known good psu, and video card and it has 2 sticks of pc3200 ddr ram so i ruled those out as being the culperate. I reset the bios via battery pull, and have no other compatible spare parts. I'm guessing the mobo over the cpu simply because this is much more likely. The case is an old emachines case that seems to only fit micro atx motherboards and the cpu is a 3200+ socket 939. The motherboard is a Foxconn WinFast 6150K8MA-8EKRS. I went to newegg and they have 0 boards with these specs. The case looks rather cramped w/ a micro atx board in it so I am assuming that this is all that I could fit in it. I am open to other suggestions, but the rents really dont want to spend too much to fix this issue. Say 150ish for the entire fix dispite what is wrong. I am open to suggestions to either a new case/mobo combo in the 939 variant or a suggestion on where i can get a resonably priced s939 mobo. My only concern is the psu may be some emachines case-specific psu and i may be needing one of those as well. I will have to check on this. Any suggestions are appreciated.

you will probably have to search pretty hard to find a replacement. s939 is EOL for most makers and uATX makes it even more niche.
keep checking amber's xpcgear link, they seem to have a weird mix of new and old stuff and don't seem to keep links to unavailable products. who know they may get some more in. Also try some of the surplus distributors like geeks.com (they get batches of older parts that retailers/distributors couldn't sell and usually sell it for what it's really worth. Got a $35 s754 replacement board that way.) There are a bunch of them around.

i used to buy stuff from these guys years ago.

But for roughly the same price you could probably find a newer amd uATX board and cpu combo with integrated video. (check newegg uatx boards and there will be some cpu combo deal at the bottom left of that page, some around $70. or just buy a $35 cpu and $35 m/b) You would only then have to buy some cheap ram ($30) to complete the deal. Just sell the parts from the old system on ebay or the forsale/trade forum here.

a new cpu/board/ram means you will have to clean up the os install, remove the old drivers etc. An exact replacement board is a drop in situation. Decide if it's worth your time/money to setup a new system or buy and exact replacement if you can find it.

If its an eMachines T-Series chassis, then everything should be pretty much standard as evidenced by the fact it is using an off-the-shelf Foxconn board. I've replaced or upgraded the mATX board in several T-Series and there was no problem. The Slimline or Small Form Factor models are almost guaranteed to have some proprietary stuff no matter the OEM. But this chassis accepts standard mATX boards, ATX PSU, and full-height expansion cards (though not full-length graphics cards).

Your best bet would be to go AM2 on the cheap, something like:

ECS AMD690GM-M2 690G mATX - $36.00 AMIR

AMD Athlon64 LE-1600 2.2GHz 1MB L2 AM2 45W - $40.00 free ship

Team Elite 2GB (2 x 1024MB) DDR2-800 Kit - $33.00 AMIR

Total = $110 shipped plus tax

Can't beat that. The Athlon64 3200+ you currently have is either 2.0GHz or 2.2GHz, so the LE-1600 will not be any slower. If anything, the whole kit should be a bit faster with DDR2 and the Radeon X1250 IGP.

You can still find 939 at some dealers; newegg isn't the only place to get stuff. Do a "socket 939 motherboard" search page by page on yahoo or google and you'll come up with some smaller venders.
