I just drink diet stuff now so it's Diet Pepsi and Diet Dr. Pepper. The Diet DP tastes almost exactly like regular to me though.

I only had Moxie once when I ordered from amazon. I wanted to see what it tasted like, and it isn't around here. I liked it cause it's unique. I'd get it every so often if I could buy it off the shelf here.

Ooof, I don't really drink pop anymore, but here would be my list:

Prerequisite: all must be with a large glass of ice. Aluminum tastes like garbage.

1. Sunkist, Squirt, Dads Root Beer
2. Sprite, All other Root Beers
3. 7-up
4. Coke and all products that are like it
5. Mellow Yellow, Mountain Dew

I miss steel cans with the tabs you pull completely off. Could be age, or recipe change, but I swear soda tasted better in steel cans. I especially liked orange Fanta when I was a kid.

The cola that should be on the list that is excellent is RC Cola. Not quite as good as an ice cold coke but it's very good. Dr. Pepper products are great in the Zero and diet arena compared to other diet drinks. Moutain Dew when it contained real sugar was very good. 7up and Sprite are good and a coin flip between the two.

The term is Soda Pop. But in the southern states everything is called a coke. So you can say soda or pop and it's the same thing.

There was a Moxie bottling plant a few blocks from my house in Springfield, Mass when I was a kid...60+ years ago. Haven't seen it since we moved west in 64.

So is Canadian. I don't understand the point of keeping sugar price high. Not like it's really a strategic reserve anymore.

Sort of different, but I really like malta. I only get it once in a blue moon, cause it has a ton of sugar, and if it's sitting around the house, I drink it fast, but it's unique. This country needs more malt flavored stuff.

Also, the science is far from settled, but it seems that most of the artificial sweeteners are actually worse for humans than glucose.* Unless you're diabetic or at risk, might as well drink real sugary beverages.

Stevia is natural, maybe it's okay. More research needs to be done. Allulose is very new, and doesn't have any studies behind it so far.

As the article states, there is a significant difference between traditional artificial sweeteners and the newer sugar alcohols. I don't tolerate the sugar alcohols well.

It's not conclusive but some studies on the older artificial sweeteners turned up potential health concerns as well. Ironically two of the popular ones may induce a blood glucose response:

It's possible that one of the entire lot is safe; my point is just that we really don't know yet even though we're consuming tons of this stuff nowadays in ultra-processed foods. I also misspoke earlier; some people drink a LOT of soft drinks daily and I did not mean to imply they should be drinking that much sugar water.

it used to be, but it no longer is. And, this is now an internet myth, you'll probably get a ton of bad results online, but aside from the special Passover run, no coke is produced anywhere in the world with cane sugar. The "yellow cap" is the last bastion of real coke.

I think most places use "real" sugar rather than HFCS. Europe also is n the "real" sugar train.
