SOF II, G4 ti4200, and Bad Performance...Help anyone??

I recently switched over to the ti4200 from a Radeon 8500 and begin playing SOFII. With the Radeon and my system the game ran and looked great. I pulled out the Radeon, put the ti4200 in, Reformatted my harddrive to start fresh and then attempted to play SOFII again. I was surprised how choppy it was. Now, the game automatically detects best Video settings so I went with defaults. I then tried turning things down and it helped a little, however, the game still isn't smooth. There is also a lot of "tearing" whether I have Vsync on or off. I turned on the FPS in the game console and I am averaging 25-30 FPS. Now according to all the tests Ive read, this G4 ti4200 should be faster then the Radeon, at least Just as Fast, so anyone have any idea whats wrong.

Anyone have system specs similiar to mine that can give me some guidance on the best settings in the game?

Well, you could delete (or backup) your myconfig.cfg file and try reseting everything again. I would imagine there's a inappropriate setting in there somewhere that's throwing it off. SOF2 runs extremely well for me with both my GF3 and GF4 ti4600 at MAX settings.

ok lets see here you got all the patches for your amd mobo and all the latest nvidia drivers i assume. If not try the latest nvidia reference drivers out 29.42. Also make sure any form of AA or aniso filtering is turned off. Also you might try changin your agp aperture settings to 128 which i find works best.
