Gameplay:
Explosion - Explosions look nice!
Reloading M16 - M16 with silencer, m203, and red dot sight.
Reloading M16 2 - You tap the mag against the gun before reloading. Notice the visible round? Don't ever remember seeing the rounds in mags in other games.

The rest of these pics may not be safe for work. Very gory.
Shot in the balls - - you can shoot the enemies in the balls and they will grab them and kind of stagger around.
Shot in the neck - Shoot them in the neck and they clutch their necks and stagger around.
Lost an arm - bone sticking out.

screens look nice but is the game actually fun?

ps i've seen rounds in mags in third party mods, but not from the game devs themselves, so thats kinda neat.

Looks cool indeed.

But I wonder why that game kinda came out of nowhere. The publishers should have advertised it a long time ago to build some hype. I wish I could rent PC games at my local gaming store, because I don't want to buy that one without knowing if I'll like it.

Is there a Demo for it ?

Yep, screens look great! This game definitely needs a demo! I have been reading many negative things, so I am quite hesitant to lay down my cash for this without trying it first.

i'm wondering if there wasn't any advertising for it because its not really all that great.
it has lots of missing features that should be in most FPS games.

You can tell it was made for consoles primarily and PC was an afterthought. It really feels like a direct port from console to PC with no PC specific tweaks. All menus and everything are very console-like. Even typing your name for MP is done through an onscreen keyboard, you can't use your real keyboard.

I finished the SP last night. Pretty short, but what SP game isn't these days?
I don't think its worth $40. maybe $20-30.

Now, I've heard news of the devs taking the complaints and fixing them in a patch. Whether thats true or not remains to be seen. If they do fix many of the complaints, this game might turn out fairly decent.

here are some of the complaints:

- Show server ping in MP server browser

- Show player ping in game

- Show player stats in game (not just kills, but also deaths and additional info)

- Make the game playable for up to 32 players a map

- Make sure we can lean

- Give us more control over graphics and performance settings

- Enable a Console so we can customize our gameplay from there

- Give us more crosshair options

- Make sure Chat will be enabled

- Make sure Team Chat will be enabled

- Make sure player Names can be edited as we like (colors etc)

- Make the game cheat-proof (punkbuster or something similar

- Release dedicated servers so the game can be run remotely

- Fix the Vista problems

- Enable Spectator mode in MP (when killed as well as just spectating when afk)

- Make sure the menu is optimised for PC

- Enable back buttons in the menu

- Enable a double click function to join a MP game (in addition to the function of selecting it and then clicking join)

- Enable a lagometer

- Enable customisable mouse sensitivity

- Enable some sort of radar so we know where our teammates are

- Enable custom Field of View



All that said, I did enjoy the SP. It was simple run & gun style gaming.

Better graphics in Far Cry IMO.

Tapping the magazine to the side of the M16? You tap the back of the magazine so it seats all of the rounds. Tapping the side of the magazine does nothing.

And here I am to point out that you are the resident Crysis basher

I installed SoF: PB the other night when I was drinking. After getting all pissed off at having to play it in an 800x600 little patch on my hdtv due to the absofuckinglutely horrid graphical options and no support for the correct res of my monitor, and it wouldn't even run in 1024x768 without all sorts of weird lines going down the screen and other such bullshit... Needless to say, I uninstalled the game immediately. I think I might give it another go soon, maybe after they come out with a widescreen hack for it, or maybe ANY GRAPHICS OPTIONS AT ALL??????

i don't know that i bash it. certainly not anything like this guy is bashing this game.
1680 x 1050 is a widescreen resolution that i play it in.

I was a die hard SoF2 fan in the day. I still have over a hundred screenshots of my best rounds. SoFP was an embarrassment to the franchise.

you exaggerate so much it's not even funny, you said in another thread "worst dx9 graphics I've ever seen" nobody can take you serious. It's obviously you hate the game with an extreme passion. Look at the screen shots he posted, if this is the worst looking dx9 game you've even see, or even close. I take it the only 2 games you've played are Crysis & COD4? I've played almost every FPS since SOF2 came out, and this one looks good, the weapon models are freaking amazing. Game isn't great but it's far better than you're trying to make it out to be. give it up dude, and if this really is the worst game you've played. I got a box full of FPS's that will make you think this is Crysis.

yep, they have lots of gun options with lots of accessories for them. not all guns have accessories though.

I suppose I should have used the word "alone" after screenshots to clarify what I meant.

I'd be curious to see if they change anything with the textures. Generally, it's considered bad to create assets in resolutions larger then what you're going to use as you will lose details from the drop in size. At the same time though, it would solve a lot of low res problems with console to pc ports as you could do everything in 1024 and simply drop the size down as needed for the console. You could even tailor the texture size to the scene to get maximum quality.
