dude, I tried to play the SP on the medium setting (is that hard? i don't remember) but I couldn't even get past the first level! I dropped it down to easy and still had a hell of a time!
I did finish it though.


Do you play as Quiksilver or some other name? can't say i've really paid much attention to the names of the other players in the MP games though.

I haven't played MP a whole lot, but have you found that most people just end up sitting in a building with a sniper rifle?
I tried to play by running around but I always end up getting sniped so the last time I played I just sat in a building and sniped as well, lol.

I'm also not really digging every gun being silenced either. I guess I'm just too used to games where the guns couldn't be silenced or maybe just one gun had one but it was balanced by being weaker (MP5 in SoF2). Just makes it too easy to camp and no one wants to run around and get in gun battles.

You say that any game that requires tactics is a tactical shooter. Well, is that not any FPS game? What is the difference between your perspective of a tactical shooter and a run and gun? Sounds to me like your run and gun games are tactical too with what you've said. Do you not pick tactics, such as certain weapons, based upon your desire to win at the game? So every FPS game can be considered a tactical shooter then? No.

Tactical shooters are known to be purely as realistic as possible. I gave you VERY good examples. America's Army, OFP and R6 series.

Then the comment that people that play COD4 are whiny babies yet you're the one asking questions how to get better at the game? You're a huge hypocrite and you keep proving it over and over.

I was really looking forward to this new SOF game. I was a die hard fan of SOF2. I had huge expectations. None of them were met so the game is just a disappointment. The fact that they released the game around the same time as COD4 and Crysis was a huge blunder on their part.

Kanye West and 50 Cent released albums on the same day. That was a direct competition between the two. Are you seeing anything on this?

SOFPB's graphics are nowhere close to that of COD4. Heck, BF2's graphics look better than SOFPB's!

The CloakNT3 engine is just an updated engine used in the game Chaser. That game is from back in 2003! Have you seen screenshots of that? Same engine but given DX9 updates! Do some reading...

I'm just wasting my time with apparently someone that's too immature to talk to. I won't bother wasting anymore of that time.

Yeah, single player is quite annoying, I started on normal and tried to play through within dying once (that didn't last long). I'm on the last mission atm then I'm gonna try to do it on hard; I tested hard already on the first level and it doesn't seem too hard; just the AI aim's better.

Yeah, I noticed that on war torn; everyone just sits up on the balcony and just camps with scoped assault or sniper. Same thing with the village, its annoying.

If sof: Pb would support alternate text characters like css I would use Quiksilver or Grey Fox (which I usually use) but I been using the name -[SiXx]-

Silencer isn't that bad although there are a few weapons that shouldn't have it at all to keep it more fair, but I wish the devs would of broke down the primary and secondary weapons into separate category's; instead of having all weapons in one, and have all weapons except the one you just chose in another. Like you shouldn't be able to have two assault rifles, or an rpg and grenade launcher in the same out fitting. Instead it should be more like(I don't think i forgot any of this...):

Primary:
Explosives
Sniper Rifles
Assault Rifles

Secondary:
Shotguns
Sub-machine guns

What i really would like is official activision servers, so all servers aren't client based -_-

You don't know me at all so don't pretend to. This game turned into a huge disappointment for me and a lot of other people. Get over it. If you like the game then by all means enjoy it. That will not convince me that this game is deserving anything more than a $9.99 price tag on a shelf at Walmart. That's all that needs to be said.

So aside from the comparisons to OTHER games, how does SoF3 MP stack up to SoF2? I agree with the others that SoF2 is probably still the best MP FPS I've ever played, and yes I have COD4 and play it daily.

And I'm surprised there's no mention of one of my favorite features of SoF2 MP that I've yet to see in any other game: a chime when you kill someone!

Currently, I don't think it compares at all. Its quite different imo.

I'm late to the party, but I saw this game for $4 and thought surely it's worth 4bucks. WRONG! I want my 4 clams back! It's terrible. It had potential to be a good run and gun mindless shoot'em up, but it's just broken. Bad guys come running straight at me in a cave-I empty two full magazines from an AK47 in his head and chest and he stabs my in the face and kills me, WTH. The hit detection is horrific - 100's of rounds from a scoped M16 cant touch a guy at 50 meters, but I can sometimes kill another one easily with a pistol across a canyon! The physics are totally off the wall. I love how I can headshot someone with a sniper rifle and they go flying hundreds of feet across the screen and get stuck in a wall or rock and flop like a chicken! The graphics are about what I expected from a 2007 value game, but please don't compare it to COD4, it's not even close.

It's still selling for around $15 where I stay. The console versions are higher. The main reason I didn't pick this up is because it got such horrid reviews overall. Shame really, considering SoF 1 and 2 were fun games.

I should have listened to those reviews. At least I only gave $4 for it, if I had paid full price I would be one PO'd SOB. Yes, SOF 1 & 2 were great back in the day. Raven should have their asses kicked for selling the franchise.

I thought it was solid; perhaps not as good as the first two games, but still fun. The weapon choices were awesome (especially the assault rifles), and the gore was over the top. I loved firing a grenade into a group of enemies and watching the limbs fly everywhere.

Also the graphics were excellent, especially the outdoor jungle missions.

unfortunately there's no cheat code. otherwise it would have been fun. I gave up trying to play the game for real and take it seriously.
