Software For Printing Pictures

Hi... Can anyone recommend a program that can properly print pictures, say 4 landscape pictures, on size A4 paper. The program that came with my HP Deskjet F2480 printer, HP Creations, just doesn't cut it. I mean I'm able to fit 4 pictures on a page using the software but the image quality suffers and I can't seem to adjust the margins.

I tried doing this in MS Word but picture quality is affected as well.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

When you use your word processor, picture quality depends on your printer settings. And, it also depends on the paper used. I do it with WordPerfect at highest quality on photo paper. It lets me arrange and size on any paper. You mention A4 - does high quality photo paper come in A4 size? If so, I've not seen it in the stores.

i use indesign and illustrator. lightroom and photoshop should be cheaper.

You have to keep in mind your colorspace - who is managing it (the os or the program or both) and who is going to manage the print colorspace and intent since the conversion from RGB to CMYK (or others) is never equal.

This is usually where the cheap free stuff fails and the more expensive apps win. You can turn a brilliant photo in garbage if you don't manage colorspace and conversion proper

Qimage (http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/) does exacly what you are looking for. I've used it for years, it has a quirky interface, but it does a great job.
