Im just finishing up my newly built system by installing my software. I have done a couple XP Pro installs to try to work out some software and configuration problems. My biggest problem is:
When I go to install software, especially games(like 90% of them), I get an error when the installation program copies the files. It states the error as a possible "corrupt media", "crc error" or "network isse(something to that effect)". Those are the explanations I remember seeing. I know my discs are fine, ruling out the corrupt media. Of them I think the "Cycle Reduancy Check" error is the one that I need to look into. It happens when installing from either of my optical drives. I think I have even tried different drive cables to fix teh problem.
What could be causing this error? Is it an XP issue or a hardware issue? My system setup is below in my signature.
Thanks for any experience/advice you can spare!
