I was mulling over a refurbed 9700pro, but I really wanted that extra performance of a 9800pro. Glad I waited.

If this falls through, I think we'll be close enough the the 6600gt's that I'll wait for it.

Yeah the 6600GT should be out soon but unfortunately they will be sold as PCI-Express versions only to start (reviews and articles state the reason being because it will be so close in performance to the AGP version of the 6800NU they dont want to lose any possible sales on that front). This is/was a good AGP upgrade for anyone that got in provided it comes through of course as we all wait and watch our order status and emails.

Bad news.... Just got off the phone with jandr. I made my order early last night and she said that its on backorder with the manufacturer and they won't know if they can ship them or not until monday.

As of right now she did not think my order would ship.

Jandr is closed both today and friday.

Well that's kind of stupid. If they're listing an item on clearance on their website as being in LIMITED STOCK, they are obviously saying that they have a few cards on hand. I don't see why they'd do that if the cards are backordered. If that's the case, so much for their "33 years of customer service". Someone who ordered should call up and really give it to them. Hopefully the sales rep had no idea what she was talking about. Keep us updated, I want to know if I actually helped anyone out here :\

Guess we won't know anything till Monday when they start processing orders, but I feel you and Apoppin already helped everyone best you could and deserve our thanks regardless of what happens with the orders. You already have my thanks/appreciation for sharing the info.

let me assume that J&R is expecting a further order from ATI

I assume that ATI made some price concessions to retailers in the last couple of days to move the rest of their old stock. . . . JR took the opportunity to clear their old warehoused stock . . . . those that ordered last night probably will get their orders . . . first come first served . . . any future orders are probably unclear and subject to ati sending more.

Just a guess.

From looking at the Better Business Bureau link, the main problem JR has is with "advertising" and they are good at settling customer disputes.

EDIT: the site did say the 6/16 orders would SHIP on MONday.

The one thing about this deal is that it isn't "ridiculously" low. $149 probably still wouldn't be below their cost even if they had to order more, so why piss off the customers?

Then again, not everyone has the same idea about business integrity.

I won't be getting my blood pressure up either way. I mean, it's not like this is a monitor from Buy.com or something... (lol)

I'd think they would have to order the cards from Visiontek and not from ATI. I didn't even know Visiontek was still around, lol. Welp, I hope that everyone that ordered early gets their shipping confirmation monday.
