After a wasted time with Windows Media Center, I'm getting a modded X-Box JUST for XBMC. Honestly, the X-Box never impressed me for games. I play FPS games on the PC, RPGs and other console games on the PS2.

I would venture to say that most people who have a modded X-Box spend far more time using Media Center than anything else. Damn fine piece of software! Wish it had a PC version.

The beauty of it is that they DO have a PC version

MediaPortal's roots lie in the XBox Media Center (XBMC) project which goal was to build a media center application for the Microsoft XBox gaming console. The founder of XBMC, Erwin Beckers (also know as Frodo) concluded early in the XBMC project that there were notable limitations to the xbox platform, mainly that it is unable to support TV cards. XBox Platform limitations like these would ultimately hinder the vision of a feature rich media center application.

In February 2004, Erwin left the Xbox Media Center project to start a new project, now known as MediaPortal that would run on the Microsoft Windows platform. Initially existing code was re-used from the XBMC project but after several releases and innumerable feature enhancements there has been almost a complete re-design.

Today, MediaPortal continues as an open source project, has a core team of developers and a growing community of over 10,000 registered users.

I think the 2 guys who mentioned it were referring to hotglue (melted plastic), not superglue.

Yeah, some companies like eMachines used to hot-glue parts in their computers. It's definately not unheard of, and it's a lot easier to remove than superglue

Might I suggest... Solder it.

C'mon, its not really that hard.

You could also inform whomever buys it that they may have to open the case upon arrival and reset the wire. Also, box it with good packing material, and then box that box in another box with good packing. Include the installation instructions for the mod chip too.

The hot glue thing sounds reasonable.
