What about Christians in general, do they tolerate/endorse paedophilia, in your opinion?

I have no opinion one way or the other.

Make no mistake, I consider all religion to be a blight on the planet, with Islam being smelliest shit at, or near the bottom of the pile. I'll tolerate anyone who keeps their beliefs to themselves, and doesn't try to inflict them on others. Religion has no place in modern society, and when the actions of it's participants affects my life, it becomes my problem.

I think the important thing here is figuring out which ATOT'ers have suddenly stopped posting.

You basically said that a hundred so-called Muslims doing horrendous things in the name of their religion as the fault of that religion, but now you're not willing to go all the way to tar Christianity with the same brush, despite the fact that the so-called Muslims in question aren't in any way official representatives of their religion, but priests very definitely are and some of them have been kiddie-fiddling.

Aside from your comment about Islam I basically agree with you. I'm just not sure why you single out Islam because there's as much evidence 'against Islam' (in your opinion) as there is for probably every other major religion.

Diddling kids isn't anywhere in the doctrine, and AFAIK isn't taught in any church, mainstream or radical. They can still be blamed because it's tolerated though. That's an administrative issue, and not doctrinal.

Now switch "diddling kids" to "killing infidels", and "church" to "mosque". Does the same conclusion apply, or is it different? I'm pretty sure there's mosques that endorse spreading the religion at the point of a sword. THAT'S the difference

They really need to allow full on torture for scumbags like this, regardless of religion/race etc..

If you are sick enough to be able to do something like this, you should be willing to accept the consequences of the same degree. Basically just put them in a cell and start chopping them up.

Maybe after word spreads that this is how it's handled we might have less of these occurrences.

You really want to give law enforcement the power to be judge, jury and executioner?

Yikes. Who needs to worry about Islam when we're poisoning our own well.

and this is the other half. Between religious zealots and the government, we're all fucked. I actually prefer the zealots. They have less power...

I think it was shock and a "no, surely that didn't ACTUALLY happen" type thing that makes these lambs-to-the-slaughter type people walk around in a zombiefied state even while this guy is still wandering about with bloody hands and knives.

About Islamic terrorism, has anyone done a proper examination of the casualties inflicted by terrorism (or some other useful metric) by different demographics, sorted by age, location, religion, wealth/poverty, happiness index, etc? It might turn out that Islamic terrorists just have really shitty cards dealt to them in terms of everything else, ruling out religion as a cause and more of a correlation.

Quoted for good insight. People don't usually turn to extremism/radicalism unless they have nothing to lose.

Do you seriously believe Islam is not a uniform? What of the hundreds of millions of peaceful Muslims around the world?

Oh, right they are the only group people in this world with a "vast majority" who are peaceful. Those minority Muslims that do these sort of things in the name of their religion? The rest of the world's responsibility, not people under the same religious banner. Whoopie.

I wonder how long it took for the cops to get guns.

I have long contended this. In 2001 I was an idiot.

So why was there mention that the guy was beheaded? It sounds like he was just stabbed or maybe throat slashed??

This is from the article on dailymail

'She was so brave, she didn't care what happened to her - she knelt down by his side and comforted him.
'She held his hand and put her other hand on his chest. I think she might have been praying.
'My friend (the woman's daughter) was crying her eyes out. The victim was wearing a Help for Heroes T-shirt.'
