This is the best case I have ever owned. I wish I had seen this deal before I bought from EMS. I paid their $119 plus $19.80 UPS.
The case is really more a charcoal color than black, the black components I installed are way, way dark in contrast, but everything sits behind a door anyway. The case has 3 80mm fans--two in the back plus one in the side door. You can move them around (to the hard drive cages, etc.). It also has a removable air cleaner in the front, two fans in the power supply, etc. The motherboard temperature monitor also controls the fan speed for the power supply AND the case fans via dedicated leads. I added one fan to the front, plus the three that came with it, plus the two fans in the power supply makes for 6 fans in the case, plus the fans on the CPU and video card make 8. In spite of this, the case is INCREDIBLY quiet. Definitely worth the bucks! The Staples deal makes it even sweeter.

I agree that this is the best case I've ever owned. I have never had a case that runs so quiet with so many fans in it. I maxxed out the fan bays, and it is still quieter than my last 2 computer's cases (a p3 and a p2). Plus, the case is pretty sturdy. I accidentally knocked the side panel off my worktable (pretty big fall, plus i hit it kinda fast) onto concrete and it only had a tiny ding on the corner that I bumped out with a rubber mallet. The frame of the case is one of the sturdiest I've worked with, plus the whole case is made with edges that wont cut you when your workign on it. The only grief you might get from this case is that it is kind of a charcoal color. It doesn't look bad with black components, it just doesnt look perfect. The way around this is to go out and get some black flat panels (or some spraypaint) to put in your empty drive bays so all of your bays match. Once they do, it doesn't look out of place.

How does or would this look with beige peripherals? CUSA sells the beige version, but they want too much $ for it compared to the Staples deal. I have beige drives, etc, a plenty, so I don't want to buy black versions. I also don't want to paint them (hence the behind the door concept) Does anyone know a place that sells black face plates to replace beige ones? I found some generic ones but none for a specific manufacturer. Thanks.....

You're in the same boat as me. I have a Plextor 16X burner and a Pioneer 106 slot-load dvd-rom and they're both beige. Heck, I figure they're behind the door and I'll forget that they're even there haha. In the future when I upgrade I'll just get black components.

Sorry guys for the late reply,

Here is what I did, step by step so all of you can ask question regarding the steps and not the whole deal.

Step 1:
Call 1-800-333-3330

Step 2:
Ask them you want to order the item...and give them the Item Number: IM1123307

Step 3:
Pricematch to ems. What I did on this was walk them through getting to the item from the front of the site's homepage. www.emscomputing.com.

3a. Click on case link on the left
3b. Click on ATX Full Tower
3c. Go to the bottom of the page and click on the "Next 20 Products"
3d. Click on that button again for the next page.
3e. Click on the link that reads Antec as the logo, and PLUS1080B right underneath it. Should be 3 from the top.
3f. The actual product page of the item. If they ask if this is the same thing...refer them to the MFG# on ems...that reads as PLUS1080B. The will review the information to make sure they are actually the same.

Step 4. (That was a long step 3)
Ask them to add your favorite coupon. I read that there was a $15 off of $100 earlier on this thread, but didn't know about this at the time of ordering since I only use the $10 off $100. Find this information first at your favorite coupon site.

Step 5. (Yeah there is a step 5)
Pay for it with your favorite "I'm in debt" card! =)

If you don't have an account at stapes you can create one at the time of purchase.

Note: I was told by staple retail store that this isn't available in their B&M establishment so ordering over the phone is your best option inorder to PM and to use the coupon.

I hope I was clear in dishing this deal out. Happy shopping!!

Refresh, nice detail on the process, but let me make the following suggestions/corrections:

Just have the CSR type "1080B" in the search box, it takes you right there.

There is a $20 off of $100 coupon, again found at your favorite coupon site.

I have waiting for this to come back (in stock) with a good deal since Staples first put the Antec products online. Getting it for $124.74 shipped now

Thanks, I read a lot of "hate rails" articles in Maximum PC and was wondering what all the brew ha ha was about. I've never had cases w/rails, and thought it strange that these Antec Cases are so loved by MaximumPC yet rails are so hated by them too.......

BigEd, I should have mentioned I have a different model than the one in this thread
but the rails should be the same. I have the SX1030 or SX1040 like they sell at
newegg.com and buyxtremegear.com.
Chieftec cases come from the same munfacturer that Antec uses.
I'm thinking of getting an aluminum one with a window for a game machine.

Cool, who makes the aluminum ones with windows? Are they PLUS models with firewire and usb ports or the older models? I think I saw some in yellow, but forget who sells them or which ones they are. Yellow would be cool.

Yeah, then you will only have to put TAXI on top of it!

ok, i take back what i said before, this is a hot deal after all. there are a few companies making this case with the removeable drive cages - prob the best feature. the older model has no blowhole and no front ports made by chieftec, the newer ones do. the ps on this case makes me wonder how hot it will leave my system, i read others say the fan goes off and then on and the black is charcoal black, not true black.

directron has the older models w/o ps:
$52 charcoal black
$59-silver
$59-blue
$52-matrix series-charcoal black-also in green,yellow,red,silver,puple,blue
and my favorite one..
$89 w/330w enermax ps-Stealth Black Directron 710B/D30B File Server

and you get $10 off your first order

Tried this procedure, doesn't work. They included the $19 shipping charge, $136 after 110% PM.
But they let me use $30 off $150 coupon without problem (I bought something else to make it $150).

Canceled my order at last. You can get it for $130 after $30 off $150 coupon, without PM.

Question:

Everyone seems to agree that this case in not true black but rather a sort of lighter, perhaps charcoal black. Is this case lighter in color or the same tone as the previous Antec 1040B model?

Thanks!

A little more tempting now that it doesn't require you to possibly make an ass of yourself with the CS...but $130.00 for a CASE? I mean, if you get a $60.00 case, that's $70.00 extra bucks that'll get you a faster CPU, right?

Am I missing something here? What sort of benefits will a $130.00 case get you? Oh and don't forget to add tax...brings it to $140.00 shipped...

EDIT:

EMS has the case for $119.00 now, which means, if you do get a staples CS to PM and accept the coupon, wer're talking $110.00 shipped. Oh yeah, doesn't staples include shipping fees when PM-ing?
