No luck in Woodland Hills, Granada Hills, Van Nuys, North Hollywood, Studio City, (2) in Burbank, Hollywood, East Hollywood.. i called all those stores between 7-8am and no luck.. o well, another great deal comes and goes and catches a few of us, Good for them too

Got one in Bhm. The local Staples manager helped to find one from another store in NY. Paid around $600 before MIR!

Well the guys at our Columbus Ohio stores are useless... Don't seem to want to help at all! I called about 15 different stores yesterday between Illinois to New York and couldn't find any of these... There was a really nice gentlemen in a store in Reading, PA who started checking inventory across the country and gave me a list of places. But they were already sold out. The guys here in Columbus just lied and said that they don't have the ability to do that..

Anyway to make a long story short, the point is that diligence pays off... At about 9:30pm last night I got a hold of a really nice lady at staples.com (well, it was the 800 number on staples.com - probably the general corporate number)... Anyway, she found one for me and told me that she can have it to me by next week... I paid over the phone and the deal was done!!

She said that it's on delay (meaning they can't ship it right away - hence I won't get it until next week)... I asked her if there were any more that should could find anywhere (I didn't mind paying shipping from anywhere in the US)... Unfortunately she said that was the last one... However, I'm sure there are still some floating around, although they'll be scarce...

Curt at the store in Westland Mall was helpful. He checked in the back for me and found the one I managed to get. I wouldn't say they're all that way in Columbus. Overall, my experiences with Staples has been very positive.

Someone is hammering the Staples customer service number, I just called and when I asked about a laptop...he said the HP ZE4101 was unavailable anywhere in the country. I hadn't even told him the model or the sku.:frown:

Well, got a nice guy on the phone down here in the Brunswick, GA store and he said that they sold their last one yesterday, to someone in Phenox, AZ! He checked their system and said that there was only one left nationwide and was damaged. He also said that about every 6 months certain models go on clearance. Guess it was just good timing with the rebates. Needless to say, I'll be keeping my eyes open again in July.

Since Staples is going to the Build to Order method, I doubt we'll see any clearance sales in July.

I work at staples, tommorow i will run the SKU in the AS400 to see if i can find anything in the country. The first one i find, of course will go to me . And the second one i find is already spoken for by a co-worker. But then I will be sure to let you AT'ers know about the other ones.

I know where I'm going tomorrow. The Staples near me suck though. Seems anytime you come across a deal that the workers don't know about, they all get very irrate and snide. I should really send my sister since her luck is about a thousand times better than mine...

Good luck getting one. I'd almost recommend that you could just sleep in because Staples will not have your laptop. However, it doesn't hurt to try.

there are still about 60-70 left in the country.. I checked it out, decided not to get it...gave it to a friend of mine. It was a floor model (just put out 2 weeks ago), and i didn't wanna get it used either. Coulda got a 910 compaq for the same price...for no need for it really. That sold within 2 hours anyway.

I wish we had a few more clues on where to look. My whole district was sold out of them when I checked yesterday. The 60-70 that remain could be known as retail "shrinks" - items that show up in the computerized inventory, but not in the physical inventory because of theft or some other method of being "lost."

If anyone is looking for a good laptop case that fits the HP laptops, you might want to check out your local Micro-Center store. I picked up a Belkin case for $27.99. The tag was market $32.99, but it was on sale. The case fits the HP "ZE" series of laptops quite well. There was a cheaper case being sold a few weeks back at Circuit City for $14.99, but the HP laptops wouldn't fit it.

Spent over an hour as the girl called all US stores showing the ze. All were gone.

The manager gave me the deal on a Toshiba Sat unit that was returned & missing UPC . Looks like the box was never opened, everything bagged & sealed.
Girl called rebate center... guy told her they will reject $150 MIR w/o the UPC .

- I have to call her as soon as I get the rejection card & then she will phone in and then they'll will approve it for her.
- She/He on both ends of that phone call took names and made notes. So hopefully I'll get $150 back.

Lemme guess: you called Staples for the price, right?

Never, NEVER, trust a CSR to give you the correct price unless you know for certain that the item was scanned. It's way too common to ask the price of an item and have the CSR just spew out wahtever the sticker or sign says. Most just have this aversion to scanning for no reason other than they are just too dasm lazy to do it.....
