I lucked out and found the last one in the Seattle area. I'm feeling extremely lucky today!

The manager approved the $50 off $200 code, and the $250 in rebates printed up at the register. The clerk couldn't believe her eyes!

Just checked 2 stores in Columbia, MD and one in Catonsville, MD; all 3 BTO only. Dang.

The Northern Virginia district of Staples is completely out of stock on these notebooks.

Just a few observations:

1) Staples looks like they are completely going over to a Build to Order model on these laptops. To me, this is not going to help the "hot deals" in the future, because clearance sales of this nature will no longer be possible.

2) Because of the BTO program, Staples doesn't even have good samples in the store. All I can see are "Non-working display models." I guess we can thank the thieves for this because maybe if so many were not ripped off, they wouldn't have to convert to "non-working display models."

3) If HP-Compaq & Toshiba adopt this model so they can be more like Dell, what's going to stop people from just buying a Dell. I thought the main reason for HP-Compaq and Toshiba being even partially successful is that people could go to a store like Staples to see and feel the actual product that they were going to purchase. I'd suspect that their (Staples) sales tank on the BTO program.

I'm in Washington state and the Staple stores in the area have specials on two Intel powered HP Pavilion notebooks:
1) Intel Celeron 1.7 GHz $999.98 after $250.00 mail-in rebate
2) Inel P4 2.0 GHz $1299.98 after $250.00 mail-in rebate

There is additional $150.00 off coupon mentioned.

I'd rather have the AMD XP 1500+ deal, but I can't find it here in this neck of the woods. Any helpful suggestions? Please??

printed register rebate form for $100.00 does not mention a UPC submission at all but the one at HP website says original UPC code. Staples mentions original also. WHO DO YOU SEND THE COPY TO????
