The fi rst day this was posted I called the staples donw here on the southern oregon coast.. They said they didn't have that model.. I figured I would Stop by anyway since I wanted to look and might as well ask them again right?? Well I get there just in time to see one of the employees paying for 2 of these.. and this is like 3 hours AFTER I called.... I was not a happy camper...........

Went to all the Staten Island locations as well as Iselin and Hazlet locations in New Jersey and they didn't have any. I have a feeling the Iselin one had some and the guy was just jerking me around again. After I walked away, I saw him talking to another worker and he said "He's looking for it too but I told him we don't have any." Got me realy angry but by that time, my migraine settled in and I had to go home...

I called around for this deal a couple of days ago and the guy was like "I have been getting calls all day for this thing. Where does everyone find out about these things?" I told him that I always check every now and then to see if they have any and made sure not to mention Anandtech. He said that pickins were slim. Anyway, another awesome deal. Too bad there weren't more to be had.

I believe this exact deal originated here... though a few hours after I posted it here, I saw it appear on FW. The thread over there is enormous.

Probably the readership at FW is larger than AT, since they are not just computer-oriented... that's why I was hoping it would be AT-only for at least a day.

We definitely need some sodimm DDR RAM deals!

Great! 128mb is too little to run XP on. I'm going to put in another 256mb if I can find a good deal on it. The store just called me back and they were nice enough not to charge me shipping on it. And they took my coupon! Thanks so much for this deal, I've been needing a laptop badly for work but the price has always stopped me. Not anymore!!!!

Actually this deal has been around for quite some time. I've been looking to transfer in inventory so i could purchase for resale. Unfortunately, a great number of them are demo models, and would bring undue attention almost immediately. The resale potential is ok...i suppose i could have got a few...but the whole wait for rebate thing troubles me.

One can conceivably track and or forecast prices for high-ticket items, but the inventory transfer process of clearance items...especially in the thousands of dollars range, (including storing final clearance merchandise for internal purchasing)..is frowned upon both at the store level and at the corporate level for margin and ethical reasons.

I think crucial has the best price for now..... I own this from the ZE1201 deal back in september 02. and have not seen any good post on ddr for this laptop. I plan on getting a 256mb stick and give the exist 128 to my sister. but..... i have yet to come across with any. Keep looking ppl, kingston is too expensive.

I found a 910 at my Staples, and am thinking about getting it, but I would probably sell it. Just out of curiosity, if I sell it on Ebay, how will the factory warranty be valid without a receipt? If I was buying a notebook on ebay, I would be concerned about a warranty.

If possible (not everyone can do this) I would pay for your laptop with CASH so you don't have to worry about your cc being on the receipt and you can mail the original sales receipt to the buyer.

I didnt go to work today because i had mid terms in the morning and i have been sick as a dog all day. I am supposed to work tommorow after school from 1-9. I will post during my lunch to let you know if possible.

Also if the inventory program says there are 60-70 left that is not realtime. It is updated at 3am eastern every morning, so for the most accurate readings possible try to get to the store early in the morning.

My next post on this subject should be sometime between 530 and 630 tommorow night depending on what time i get my lunch (if i get one at all).

Anyone living on Cape Cod or in the Cape Cod area can feel free to stop by and see me at the orleans store and i will be glad to look for you.
