I recently ordered my new computer:

Raidmax 10-bay case
Thermaltake 420W PSU
Athlon64 300+ s939
Zalman 7000B HS/F
Soltek SL-K8TPRO-939 Mobo
ATI Radeon 9600XT AIW 128mb (had from before)
Corsair 1x512mb PC3200 Value Select RAM
Western Digital 80GB SATA HD
Rosewill 52x32x52x16 CD-RW/DVD-ROM Drive

I assembled it, turned it on, and everything seemed okay. All of the fans (psu, hs/f, video card, case fans, etc.) started going, lights came on, and everything seemed to be alright. After 10 seconds of spectating what was going on in the case, I noticed that my monitor was still in sleep mode. I fastened the monitor & big splitter cables, and nothing. So I turned off the computer, and re-fit the video card. Nothing.

At this point I was very aggrivated, as I was ready to install Windows and play CS: Source with 100 FPS. So I hopped on AIM, and asked some tech buddies. There was the usual make sure everything was tight stuff. Then I was told to reset the CMOS, which I did; nothing. Then a friend told me to try something I hadn't thought of before; a different video card. I grabbed my old GeForce3 (that was in my original computer, but was replaced with the 9600XT), and hooked it up. Turned on the computer, the fan was going, but still no display.

That's when I came on to Anandtech and did a search for my model motherboard. I found some people who had similar problems with this motherboard, but never fixed them. I got the same results from Google.

I'm fairly sure it has to do with either my video card, which I don't think it is, as it runs fine in my other computer, or my motherboard.

Before I go RMAing anything, I'd like to know if anyone here can help me with this.

edit: Doing a little more testing, and something strange happened. I turned on the computer, let it run for 15-20 seconds, and as soon as I turned it off, my monitor comes on (green light), not displaying anything, then turns off 5-6 seconds later. This is with the GeForce 3.

edit2: Put the ATI back in. I moved the RAM from the DIMM1 slot to the DIMM4 slot. Turned on the computer, and the monitor came on for 2-3 seconds, and went back to sleep. I believe this is a sign that the video card is atleast communicating with the motherboard.

edit3: Sorry, guess I should've posted in the tech support forum instead of here. If you'd like to help, please go here: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=32&threadid=1568189&enterthread=y
