alejandro, most of those links rely on the fact that the emporer actually WAS seeking peace. We know all this, and it's not disputed. Unfortunately, not every general thought the Holy Emporer was infallible when it came to these things. We needed to convince not only the Emporer, who was actually a reasonable man (which is why we could leave him in power afterwards), but also the insane generals, who would command every woman and child to fight to the death.

The topic has been covered even more than the Holocaust deniers, and while the A-Bomb deniers may have more taste, they are equally loony.
