Now that i reading posts in this thread, i do remember reading articles about elephants trashing fields with crops. These animals are so incredibly huge(between 3m and 4m height,around average weight is 5000 kg) and strong, that those local farmers would really need concrete walls or dig pretty deep trenches (which on itself are a danger to animals). A simple fence is not going to do it. The same problem applies for 150 to 250kg pure muscle lions.
But how to build cheaply concrete walls that are miles and miles long and on average 4 meters high... Solving a problem is not that easy in Africa but not impossible. But the money...

Some of you are still misled.
She's not killing most of the animals. Many / most were only tranquilized for various treatments. She deliberately uses slang like "bagged" and vague terms like "shot" in ways that mislead you to think all these animals were killed. This is done to draw attention and awareness. As it turns out, the attention this has gotten is a HUGE benefit for the cause of these animals.
Some of them were actually killed; and these were usually for good reason. Also, lots and lots of money was paid to the locals for conservation. Apparently, she has done a LOT more help these animals than you or I.
I'll restate what I said, but I find it hard to believe that the country that she is doing it in, Zimbabwe, a country with this record, is really trustworthy. With everything going on in that country, I just don't see conservationism as being their saving grace.
It's not about what Zimbabwe is doing, it's about what she is doing. She is working with specific conservationists and reservations. If that lion lived then it had to eat other endangered animals in the preserve AND would continue to threaten other lions, which is why the extra males need to be culled.

I'm not sure if you're trolling, just being a general asshole, are making yourself look like an idiot. As I posted before, I know a lot of kids who have gone on trips like these to Africa, New Zealand, and elsewhere to take part in big game hunts. Many of those kids are far from wealthy. And, the places they travel to are, *gasp* , fairly nice to visit.
