Here's a few questions for you OC-ers out there :

1.) What is the default multiplier for the 1.33 GHz Athlon? Can you increase it only by whole number increments, or can you up it 0.5 at a time?

2.) How much overclocking (aproximately) could a i.33 GHz Athlon handle with a TaiSol CGK760092 (Arctic Silver II & low-noise fan)? The case has a 90mm rear fan w/CPU duct and a 90mm front fan; mobo is an Epox 8K7A. I would need the CPU to be as stable as if it were running at the default speeds.

3.) What's your advice on these choices of fans (for the TaiSol):

--60x10mm 21 CFM Fan low noise
--60x25mm 30 CFM Delta Fan
--60x25mm Sunon High Speed 27 CFM Fan

I don't want it to be very noisy (I'll be in a dorm) but I don't want to sacrifice the effectiveness of the TaiSol. Would the 21 CFM low noise one be sufficient? I'm guessing the Delta would be to loud; so what about the Sunon?

Thanks in advance,

1.) The default multiplier is 10. All type "C" Athlons run at 133 MHz Front side bus, so 133 x 10 = 1330 MHz = 1.33 GHz. And the Epox 8k7a board allows you to increase the multiplier by 0.5 increments

2.) This depends on your chip. Some chips overclock better than others. Its really hard to tell exactly how your chip will perform by just looking at the fan. I guess you are asking how well the Taisol cools your chip. I have an 1.2 GHz AXIA type "9", and by default, the vcore voltage was at 1.82, which is a bit high. Generally, the higher the voltage, the hotter the chip runs. Running at the default 1.2 GHz, my Taisol w/ 30 CFM Delta kept my chip idling at around 40 C, with full load around 44 C. I could overclock my chip to 1.33 GHz without having to increase the voltage. Therefore, at 1.33 GHz, my chip was still running at 40 / 44 C. To get it to run at 1.4 GHz, I had to boost my voltage to 1.92 V, generating extra heat. Now my chip is at 44 idle and 48 full load.

Your temperatures also depend on your room temperature and case temperature. My AC has been broken the last couple days, so I now have temps of 46 / 50, compared to 44 / 48.

3.) I have the 30 CFM Delta, and it is rated at 39 db, which is pretty loud. If you can get away with it, use the 21 CFM fan that comes with the Taisol. I have heard it is really quiet.
