I just need a little advice about upgrades, as I've been out of the loop on PC tech for awhile. A friend just bought a 9800 GTX card to put in his comp and I'm trying to help him figure out what to get to go along with it, currently its running in a system with an old Athlon 64 4000, which I assume will heavily gimp that video card. But anyway, I'm just curious if its best to go quad core or dual core right now, I was looking at some of the 3 ghz dual cores that look pretty nice. I'm also not sure about which motherboards to get and also what the best type of ram would be for this kind of system. I don't need anyone to go out there and get a bunch of links for me, if you can give me a few names off the top of your heads, I can take care of the rest of the research myself, I just need a starting point.
