A cop worth his weight in donuts would have asked to use your phone and called him back, identified himself/herself and hoped that he would threaten them too. Then they would write a report as to the nature of the call and hunted his sorry ass down and had a good talking to with him. At least that's what I would have done. It's always funny to hear someone acting like that clam up and realize they just stepped in about 180 pounds of gun toting, pepper spray carrying, moron hating cop shit. I've done it a few times myself.

Not to break away, but I had a DUI involving a minor once on post. His damn cell phone kept wringing after I took it off of him and bagged it while he was in the drunk tank. I asked him if I could answer it and lucky for him, his mother was on the phone. She asked who I was, I replied "SSG Franzen, Fort Riley Military Police. Your son was aprehended and processed for driving under the influence about 45 minutes ago. He'll be staying here tonight, but will probably need a ride in the morning.' I laughed my ass off after that as he sat right there and heard it all. I told him when I hung up who it was and he cried like a little girl.
