What does "recertified" mean?

Warranty says 90 days, manufacturer only, but with LCD panels its nice to know what they consider a defect, how many bad pixels, who pays shipping on returns etc.

it means used...but it works.
probably like the euphemisms used selling used luxury cars

one consideration is the backlight if its really used...only a certain amoutn of hours before those babies burn out.

Ecost always has deals like these, it is simply a matter of risk. Too many people have had problems with ecost as a seller (although I have not) which makes it hard to justify posting their deals on hot deal forums. I've personally had success with them and own a 37" Westinghouse that runs exactly how I expected it to, but if you have any problems whatsoever you are in a deep hole.
