some tearing with geforce ddr

I am using the detonator drivers after unistalling the guillemot stock drivers, but the problem seems to continue.I is particularly noticable playing games like GTA2. As the map moves, the textures look like this (imagine this is a staight pole)

I updated my mainboard directly from intel, and tweaked the settings of the card (v-synch etc) I have a 440bx/zx mainboard, agp x1, 128 meg sdram and a p450 mhz. Defragged, updated some more yada yada but to no avail. any insights will be greatly appreciated.

I solved my own problem it seems
When people buy video cards, they sometimes reinstall windows to make sure everything works properly, especially people like myself who get a stock graphic card with no control options (gateway likes to proactivley cut down support calls i guess) but I forgot to install the driver for the monitor itself, and it was running as an 'unknown'. Once i installed the driver, all works well.
