some weird clicking sound...EDIT: What's a good 80GB hard drive?

I never noticed it before, but when I surf the net and either

>use mouse wheel

I heard this clicking noise from my system -- I can't isolate where exactly it's coming from (damn fans).

Anyone know why this is happening?

look at your hd. clicking sounds general come from a soon to die hd. Back up your stuff now

Put your hard drive in another system, overlay install, and see if it clicks... or just try an old HD in your system.... isolate the hard drive now... and BACKUP now...

my 75gxp doesn't even do this, and i've had it for a lot longer than my 60gxp.

i think i'll steer clear from ibm.

what hd is the quietest and gives off the least heat?

Should be able to get one for around $115.00

I've seen strange things happen with crappy drivers and using certain mouse keys or arrow keys... often from the pc speaker... have you made sure this isn't something coming from the speakers before you start replacing your hard drive? Just unplug your speakers (including the single one in the case which attaches via mobo headers) and see if you hear these noises.
