I'm a conservative, but find this kind of behavior absolutely reprehensible. Hello, this wasn't a debate, it's a speech! Our traitor in chief hasn't paid any attention to those that are not on his side since he took office. People have been speaking out in droves since Bush signed the bail-out continuing through Obama's trash of a stimulus bill and ill-responsible budget. Either way, I remember Bush being booed and probably wasn't particularly bothered by it, and as said earlier in this thread, this incident isn't a "big deal", but calling the president a liar is different than expressing disapproval by booing or not clapping. It's not splitting hairs at all, which is why Joe was called on it by members of his own party and apologized, while people on both sides who in the past booed did not do so.
Of course, historically you and I don't agree on much, so it could also just be that.
