So I have a Sony FDR-AX53 on the way. Al I want is someone to give me a few solid suggestions on what specific make/model media to get for it. I'd like at least 128GB and plan to do most recording in 4K. I know that will limit recording times but if need be, I will buy a larger card or just get multiple 128's. Thx for any help!

I use Sandisk Extreme Pro SD cards. I actually just bought a 128GB for $63.

Media Type
XAVC S 4K (100 Mbps): SDHC Memory Card (4 GB or over, UHS-I U3 or Higher)/SDXC Memory Card (UHS-I U3 or Higher), XAVC S 4K (60 Mbps): SDHC Memory Card (4 GB or over, Class 10 or Higher)/SDXC Memory Card (Class 10 or Higher), XAVC S HD: SDHC Memory Card (4 GB or over, Class 10 or Higher)/SDXC Memory Card (Class 10 or Higher), AVCHD, Still: Memory Stick PRO Duo™ (Mark 2), Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo™, Memory Stick XC-HG Duo™, SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card (Class 4 or Higher)

Needs to be that type in order to support highest quality 4k. Sandisk is pretty much defacto brand to go with but never had a problem with Samsung, Sony, Kingston, PNY...etc. Make sure you get it from a reputable seller cause there are known counterfeits out there.

Google is your friend.

Video Speed Class or "V Class", was created by the SD Association to identify cards that can handle higher video resolutions and recording features. This speed class guarantees minimum sustained performance for recording video.

The price difference is because the v30 card is sold by Amazon and the other is from a 3rd party.

Ah ha, didnt realize one was 3rd party.

As for Google, just as big an enemy as a friend. After exhaustive research it is MUCH more resourceful to simply ask individuals who own the product and have first hand experience. Simple, straightforward and much more useful than "go try Google".
