Someone just tried to send me a virus...hehe

I am feeling evil and my Norton Personal Firewall picked this sucker up. I did a Whois using NetInfo and picked up that he is a RoadRunner Cable user. It came back with an e-mail address I can send to RR to report illegal use of the IP. Should I be an evil person and report this guy? Or just leave him alone?

I wasnt in anything. I was downloading Linux from a Linux web site and my Norton Icon started flashing and I checked it out and it said the Firewall picked up a SubSeven 2.1/2.2 Trojan and blocked it.

what exactly does a sub7 do?

 

Spreading virii and trojans are in no way positive to the computing industry.
And really take no "hacking" or "craking" skill what so ever.
I say report him, a malicious attempt to destroy your property.
Kind of like a kid walking up to your car with a crobar, and the alarm going off and you watching him run down the street.
Whats the difference?

a few questions...does anyone know how to get the log back up in Norton Personal Firewall? I just restarted and I cant seem to get it back up...and how do you take screen shots?

pooht .. I do not know how to get the log back up but to take a screen shot you hold alt + print screen and then paste it into a graphics program such as PSP and save it as a gif or whatever.

That is just someone pinging looking for someone who already has the Trojan. He wasen't trying to send it too you. If you write one of those emails everytime you get scanned for a trojan you'll get carpal tunnel before the month is up.
