I've been with astraweb since, like, forever, but I finally cleared out my pre-paid balance tonight, which has me thinking if there are better services out there in the world that have came up since the last time I was looking for a new provider (like, 5-6 years ago)

How much bandwidth do you use? I'm with usenetserver on their 3-month plan, $40 a pop. Unlimited usage, 101 retention now, free search on their website, SSL connection available now too.

I'm guessing that I'm using ~10 gigs/month (just a guess, though. I sorted the files in my downloads folder by month and looked at the different sizes)

for searching I use nzbindex.nl

I like easynews for their web interface and global search. 10 bucks a month for 20 gigs of web based downloads, or 25 gigs of nntp downloads.

If anyone ever needs access for a short time or just wants to get a few files.... Usenetserver's $3 for 3 days unlimited is very nice. It's fun seeing how much you can push through in 72hrs.

The last two months I have been getting full service though, $15 for unlimited - average ~1100kb/s. They also have a Global search/nzb service.
