I had a 75' garden hose on a metal real and someone snagged it from the side of my house last night.

WHo the hell steals a garden hose?

They also took my new sprinkler

Heh, someone took mine once but he fessed up later saying his frat needed something to fill up the dunk tank with.

I didn't even notice it was gone till he mentioned it.

Come to think of it we had some lawn furniture on our back porch I don't remember seeing when we moved.

Love college towns.

It would be funny if they mailed it back to you a foot at a time over 2 months.

Yes, I had a 50' hose stolen from me on my front porch before. Small town as well, made me very angry that someone would steal a $10 hose.. on my property! :|

I was walking the dog last weekend when I came by a house where the people are moving out. They had a nearly new 75 foot garden hose coiled up in the trash can by the sidewalk. I looked at it for a couple minutes thinking it must have pinhole leaks or something. I finally decided to take it.

It was only two blocks from my house, but I figured if I walked back and got my car, it would probably be gone before I got back. So I just grabbed it and brought it home. I felt like a thief- if I saw somebody doing that I would think they stole it.

The reason I snagged it was because the hose I have in my backyard is 50 feet long and black. Everytime I would use it, I'd get my hands covered with black stains.

You forgot to say if it in fact did leak?

My bad. I borrowed it to siphon my septic tank into the river and forgot to return it.

It's in good shape. I felt like an idiot all the way home, but when I hooked it up it worked okay.

Oh tm37, sorry about your loss and the hijack.

You'd be surprised. Some asswipe came into our junkyard of a backyard to steal the rust-laced melons we grew. Those things are huge, grow up to 2 feet long and 8" in diameter (20lb a pop maybe), and they somehow humped them out of there. Funny thing is that it's a melon for a particular culture's cuisine, and the majority of people in the neighbourhood wouldn't know how to cook with it. We still suspect the crazy old lady who rummages the neighbourhood's garbage for cans.

Haven't ever had anybody steal a hose before but I did just have to replace a hose that some jackass decided to cut through while it was laying across my yard attached to my sprinkler.

I was at my local carpenter shop a couple of days ago when this blonde girl came in and asked to have a box made. She wanted it 1 1/2" X 1 1/2"wide by 100 feet long.

The carpenter said, "Yes, I can make that but why do you want it?"

She replied, "Well, my neighbor moved and left his garden hose behind and I want to ship it to him".

Curb is generally considered finders keepers, it seems to me... When I lived in a more populous area it was how I'd get rid of old furniture and such. Just put it out and overnight, like magic, it would be gone

It makes me wonder how many people walk around my house when I'm not there. I half want to get cameras and just review the video once a week on fast forward to see if people are walking around at night. Sorry to hear about your hose. I sometimes wonder if my grill or patio set will get legs. I half think about chaining it to my deck, even though I live in a good area.
