Someone tell me... when you pay thousands of dollars for hardware (and software) and not only does it crash under a relatively moderate load (>2000 concurrent call legs, sans media), but still exhibits very stupid flaws in common logic, what are we supposed to think?

Is it worth filing yet another case with TAC?

This should read:
Temp delta of inlet and outlet is measured as 3C/5F.

How does 3C = 5F?

LOL! More math fail!!!!!!!!!!

Delta T = 3C = 5F

I'm not looking at the rest of the text because I have no idea what it means, I can only assume that it's showing the same values in C/F, but now that you point out it's only showing the delta it makes sense.

How does 3C = 5F?

Do you work for Cisco? It's a delta temperature, not an absolute! (and actually it's 5.4 degrees, but... I'm cool with 5.)

gtss1 uptime is 1 day, 1 hour, 43 minutes
Cisco AS5350XM (BCM) processor (revision 0x21) with 786431K/262144K bytes of memory.

No, and I have limited experience with Cisco products. Obviously I understand that it's a delta now that spidey pointed it out. So what's the big deal? It doesn't show the decimal places?

We replied at the same time, you're going to be just fine.

Anyway, there is no significance to anything beyond an integer measurement when it comes to equipment failure due to temperature. It would probably be just as adequate if they posted 'cold','moderate','balmy','warm','hot','smokin','inferno' as far as I'm concerned. But... that 3C/37F on a delta is a pathetic oversight. Harmless, but pathetic. I'm nit-picking cisco because they've been releasing a lot of bad IOS lately. I can pick out at least 3 errors in the show dial-peer voice commands... oh well.

So they accidentally set the output to the conversion from C to F instead of the delta in C and delta in F. Obviously, since it sees the the delta being 3C and 3C=37F it's just a display bug. It probably deals in C as its base unit for temperature, which probably means that the F display is for convinience only.

I doubt that you're going to have an issue because of this.

I agree. The F is displayed for old people who don't want to switch to C Any way, I think it would be best to send them an email if you want to help them with their Algebra. It is kind of funny to see though because they partially got it right. If they left off the + 32, it's correct.

(9/5 * Cout + 32) - (9/5 * Cin + 32) = 9/5 * (Cout - Cin) + (32 - 32) : That's how it should work if they just use conversions for display purposes (skipping the 32 - 32 of course).
