The big secret is most asian kids stay home longer and save up for it while a lot of other races [not taught the value of family] think FREEDOM and bolt the minute they can. Borrowing some from mom & dad for a downpayment is also a lot easier because of their closer relationship. Meanwhile, these asian kids are seen as "sheltered" and don't know how to take care of themself. Is that really true? Who is better off in the end?

maybe - the white chicks who bolted from mom & dad too. My gf at the time, who I met in college, went back to living with her parents too. We bought a house together at 25-ish with the money we both were able to save from 4 years of full-time pay. I don't imagine that to be an uncommon story.

It's just a completely different avenue from renting-since-18 and being a broke bachelor, randomly dating. If you're more worried about chasing tail, you deserve the financial hard-ship. Half the time I blame parents who tell their kids to GTFO. Great parenting. As long as the kid remains responsible and helps out instead of being a lazy-ass freeloader, it's perfectly fine imo.
