question on CloneCD and this Sony writer.

Does CloneCD require anything that would void the warranty on this drive? (like a non-OEM firmware flash?)

What else do I need for CloneCD? Do I need a supported reader too in the same machine? Or can I take images to the HD?

Someone (forgot who) mentioned that the plextor is also a good deal at buy.com with the free shipping. I decided to order the plextor for 148.95 - $30. The only thing is that you have to get the subtotal over $150, so i just bought some cdrs.

I'd go for the Plextor more than anything else. I got the Yamaha at Amazon when they had the deal going, but I'm now thinking of ordering the Plextor and selling off this Yamaha. Someone convince me not to do it! Doh, this is going to be another pain in the butt ordering to my friend in the US, etc, etc.

I would go with the Plextor if I was you. I have had my 8x burner for awhile, and still haven't burned a coaster that was the writers fault. 300+ burns
