Not trying to crap, but if sony recievers are pretty crappy. On that site the HK AVR135 is a way better reciever for only a bit more, so is the Yamaha HTR5740, or a Pioneer VSXD814 or 914. You lose that 7th useless surround channel, but their arent even any movies that use it, plus you get a reciever that doesn't sound horrible with music(a known problem with sony recievers).

Thanks JS for yet another great deal!!! Although I do agree with lbhskier (Sony sounds like crap for music), I still appreciate the neverending drive to show us AT'ers how good of a researcher you are. Keep it up JS!

Well...

How about 249 + reasonable shipping = regular price here. ($263 shipped for me at expo vs $275 for me at onecall). Not sure if expo has the warranty though.

Also I agree with the above posters. You can do better than this for $250.

Looks good for the price. Review on amazon is ok every complain about the manual and remote. Review link for the lazy one

Correction... the DE line is pretty crappy. The DA (ES) line is excellent. Not sure if it's still around, but the DB line is also very good (almost as good as DA).

Yet another account supporting that claim. I did use the DE line for a while before switching to Onkyo. The difference in driving my Wharfedale Diamond 8.4's was night and day.
