Amazing photography and with non-pro lenses. Just goes to show you what a good photographer can do with any equipment, though that massive sensor helps a bit, I'm sure.

Makes me look at my KM 28-75mm a little differently (same design as the Tamron he used). I think it tends to backfocus though.

Although I'm sure the massive sensor/pro lenses are extremely useful for landscape photography, you can't tell on a web-sized copy. The dynamic range of the A900 certainly helped, but nearly all the credit should go to the photographer; the shots were framed so well, and he clearly knew how to take advantage of his wide-angle lens.

Makes me want to head over to Fry's to play with the A900 display again.

I hate to be honest, but I've seen more inspirational work from Death Valley with much lesser dSLRs and pano stitches.

Indeed, my biggest issue here was the lack horizontal coverage which would have been solved by some stitching some shots together.

Composition was fine, but I would have also liked to have seen more PP work, particularly boosting saturation a bit.

Sweet photos..... Glad I caught this post, as I missed it the first time around on DPR where I usually lurk in the KM SLR and Sony SLR forums...

The more I see from that camera, the more I like it. I love my a700 and am not rich, so I'll have to wait on the 24mp upgrade.. Oh, and I like the 1.5x reach with my lenses... Although, I do miss the FF wide angles perspectives and DOF fun... Can't have it all with my budget...

These shots really have nothing to do with the A900, and more to do with decent photography. There are a lot of cameras that could easily take those shots after attaching any number of your garden variety wide angles.

I was stationed in China Lake for 3 years and only once did I take any photos of Death Valley.
And they werent very good either.

Nice to see someone who took the time to show us how to do it right.
