And I already answered you on how I personally would handle it. Yes, I meant trade it in when you hear they are going out of business. It's not possible that a company the size of Sears would close shop and lock the doors without anyone knowing about it beforehand. Plus, your entire question is ridiculous.Originally posted by: TTM77
Toddlizzle, I already did say that not likely Sears go out of business or get bought. But what I am really asking is, how would they handle if there is incident like this.
And how would you trade in if Sears isn't there anymore? Unless you saying you trade it in when you hear they going out of business.
And again, THIS IS A QUESTION ASKING HOW THE EXTENTION PLAN FROM A COMPANY WOULD HANDLE IF THE COMPANY GO OUT OF BUSINESS OR GET BOUGHT. Not directly relate to Sears alone.
Well I have pricematched at Sears both in the local store and with Sears.com. When I did it, they had a list of reputable online vendors which they will match, and I don't know if Dell is one of them. But that was their policy when I did it. They pricematched a VCR for me against Crutchfield.com and pricematched my Sony F707 camera against someone else (I don't recall who it was at the time). I went into the store with printouts from Pricegrabber for five different vendors and the sales guy called it in to a corporate office and then those people looked up each vendor and said yes or no to matching the price. Of the five I brought in, it was the third best price that they ended up matching. I really couldn't complain, because the first two vendors were pretty shady looking and there's no way I would have bought from them.Originally posted by: sumrtym
I'm a little confused about how you pricematch Dell to Sears and then buy a replacement plan. According to Sears pricematch policy, they only match LOCAL stores.
You can end the discussion if you'd like by not replying, but you are making moronic statements and I can't let them stand. There's not a ten-year replacement plan available for digital cameras at Sears. The only replacement plans offered by Sears for the F717 are one-year or two-year replacement plans. Those are in addition to the manufacturer's warranty, so a two-year plan covers you for three full years.Originally posted by: TTM77
Too lazy to just drop by there. And last time I got a reason to go into Sears was like 4 months ago. That is how often I go to Sears.
Ridiculous as it may sound, but company do come and go. Those extension plan covers like 5 or 10 years maybe more. I don't know about you, but when I pay something for 10 years, I expect it to be 10 years. Have you look at that plan? It can go from $15 to like $500 or something like that. I just wonder if you can go and get the rest of your money back if they do go out of business.
End of discussion.
Admittedly a great camera, but the Canon D60 is a digital SLR. That's a completely different kind of camera, not to mention the $2000 price tag and that doesn't even count lenses & other add-ons. And you can get the same pics with a Sony F717, a Nikon 5700 or a Canon G3. Unless you're doing wedding or event photography, or you just have $3500 to blow on a pro digital SLR rig, it's overkill. Heck, even the F717 is overkill. It's definitely not a convenient camera, although it's a lot more convenient than a D60, that's for sure.Originally posted by: JImmyK

I have never spoke to such a rude people in my life! That person on the phone started to talk to me so rudly, that I got scared and forgot what I wanted.. He continuied: "What do you wants? Can you speak speak or what?? or I have to pull worlds out of you mouth?" Than he handed up on me. That was an insult. If I could sue them I would.

Agreed on the wierd shape, but...
That design allows for some over-the-head shots that others wouldn't have dreamed of - and I have done that a number of times AND if your into candids you can sit on a curb or bench, drop the camera into your lap, swivel the body so the LCD is almost 90 degrees face up (from normal vertical) and shoot. People thing your just messing with your camera. As a rule people don't like their picture taken unless you either know them or have permission.

FWIW, I'd recommending buying the camera at your local Sears and getting a pricematch to either Dell or some other merchant off of pricewatch/mysimon/etc. You'll get it locally (no shipping) + if you get the replacement plan, you can bring in your old camera and get it replaced w/the newer equivalent model! I just did it w/my old F707 a couple of weeks ago and actually got cash back ($70) b/c the price on the newer model was cheaper than what I paid for the 707! Especially worth it if you're hard on your equipment like me.

Ya, Memory stick is the most expensive out there. But is it really better?
