Managed to find a single user review out there after much searching: review. Also noticed that Provantage has some excellent prices on their Viewsonic 19" CRTs. I may have to get one of these, just to replace my 17" CRT as my secondary monitor at home. Thanks for the info.

Trinitron monitors are nice monitors. As far as those that bash shadow mask...lol...get a life. Both types of monitors have their strong points and weak points. But a high quality monitor of either category will look marvelous.

I have a CTX (Sony mock-off) Trinitron and I like it. Every once in a while I noticed the horizontal lines, but only on screens with a large ammount of white and only after a good deal of monitor viewing.

True, shadow mask can be excellent. but I personally prefer aperture grill
