My question is pretty simple...between these two monitors (or others you want to throw in), which monitor is easier on the eyes? Keeping my sight is a big deal to me, so I was wondering which of these monitors was better for my eyes. Also anything else you want to throw in about these monitors is fine by me.

I'd have to say Sony G400, I'm using it now and I love it

PM me if you want any more information or opinion...

actually, i dont think that either one would be easier on the eyes...i think the best way to pick out a monitor would be to go to a local best buy and look at them for yourself, because what is pleasing to one persons eyes may not be to the next person

Are you using the default AnandTech background? Can you see the AG lines in the gray, beige and white?

Most people would just have to say what they own, without even seeing the other monitor. The best way is to look at them yourself, I'm sure there are Sony models in BestBuy which are also based on the FDTrinitron. 900NF is a little harder to find, just find a similar DiamondTron NF monitor for comparison, that would be the closest thing you can do.

Ok... I HAVE A 900NF so I may be Biased, but one of my roomates has a G400. I can look at both... And you know what? I can't tell a dang difference...

Get the Sony if you want the dual inputs and bragging rights

Get the Samsung for the price...

That is what it all boils down to. Either way, you can't go wrong.

I agree, most of use probably couldn't tell a difference. They are BOTH great monitors, you'll be happy with either one.

LXI... not quite as good... I mean, nothing is easier than just having two regular connectors... But they both have their purposes.

Im not so sure, because BNCs look real nice, definitely on par with dual inputs, if not better. The only downside is you dont get PnP support. As for easiness of installation, they're the same.

Ok... I get you there.... It's just if you have two normal monitors and want to hook them up, the Sony is easier... That is what I meant all along... Sorry for the confusion.

I would rather go for the Sony if you had the money, just my personal opinion.

The biggest downfall of most dual input monitors is you need to navigate the on screen menu, sometimes up to eight steps to switch inputs. Some monitors have convenient one step toggle switched on the front. From a video quality point of view I doubt you will see a difference.

while it's debatable, the point of BNC5 is not primarily dual-input, but higher quality signals at high-res modes. At the modes I run, I don't notice any difference.

To switch from BNC5 to DSUB in the Samsung 900NF on-screen menus takes only a few clicks, IF that is the last setting you adjusted. Meaning if you adjusted something besides the BNC5/DSUB input, then it'll take more menu navigation to get to the input selection menu. It's not one-button, but it's convenient enough for me.

Gosharkss,

Know of any monitors that will do that, preferably 19" that will do 85+Hz @ 1600x1200? Also, who makes the best KVM switches? I've heard Belkin but don't know of a good/cheap/reliable model or brand.

Sony G420

At least I hope so. Should be here in a day or so. I'm pretty excited about it.
