Sony Monitors

[Doomer]

After much anquish I finally ordered one.

Some love them, some hate them. Some say quality isn't as good as it used to be, some say it's better. Some are bothered by the "lines", some are not.

My last 3 monitors were CTX, Samsung and Viewsonic. They were all garbage especially the CTX.

Someone tell me I done good.

Someone tell I done bad.

If you bought a Sony then I bet it must have been a Trinitron tube.
At hardware stores I am always impressed by the sharp definition and contrast of Sonys, when lined up together with others. If you can bear the heavy price premium of Sony then I think you get the best image quality. I bet the power regulation is good too.

Thanks Rig, Actually I'm not too happy with the price premium but after all the time and expense of shipping back the Samsung and Viewsonic and lugging the CTX back to the local BB, I'd have been a lot better off paying the premium to begin with. I just hope the Sony is a keeper.

I had a Viewsonic 7 for about 8 years that never gave me any trouble so I naturally went with VS again only to find that they aren't what they used to be. O'well, times change I guess.

Hahah nice job in ordering the Sony. I love my sony g400. it had like one geometric problem but i manage to get it under control by tweaking the monitor settings and now i don't even notice it anymore. Besides, the quality of the monitor, like the color and the sharpness just make it a jewel to watch dvd's on.

Uh Doomer please mention the models of the monitors you bought. If you had problems with Trinitron/Diamondtron models of those monitors you most likely didnt set them up properly. A sony wont solve your problems. What were the exactly problems you had?
