Did you honestly think this deal was anything other than a $2000 pricing error? And did you really think - after my explanation of how careful I was not to spoil a &quot;genuine&quot; hot deal and my timing - that my (or anyone elses') call had anything to do will killing the deal?

If you really did I am sorry for spoiling your dream. It's the old &quot;kill the bearer of bad news&quot; syndrome. Perhaps you would have preferred to wait for the email in a day or two to dash your dreams, instead.

Believe it or not, I haven't lost my sense of humor. But I am realistic.

Here is something that doesn't make sense: if someone thinks a deal is too good to be true, an obvious typo, will never be filled, or whatever in this nature, then why does he have to spend his time, call the 1-800 number, verify the price, and get laughed at by the CSR?

apoppin was NOT the first one to call Sony about this deal, so his phone call most likely did NOT kill this deal.

About 3 years ago, compaq made a pricing error on a refurb. laptop. It read something like $281 instead of $1281. I order right away, I ordered like 10 of em'. A few days later they called me back and told me it was a pricing error, but they will let me have only 1 as a customer courtesy. 15 other family members who ordered it got them too. Offcourse it took them 2 mo. to ship the laptop, the wait was fockin' worth it. It came with a printer and a laptop case... I sold them both for about $300 making the laptop completely free. Now that was a deal! The same year I lost 15gz in stocks, day trading on the same laptop.

Anyway, getting back to this deal... I really don't know what to say. When a POS company like compaq honored their mispricing, why not SONY? The production cost for this combo package is probably around $1000, just guessing. If you think about it, its not a major major loss for SONY. In the worst case scenerio, they should at least give us the camcorder for $261.23. All you bitches start bitchin' SONY, maybe they will honor it! $hit! its 3AM can't buy beer anymore...

I dunno why people would call em'. Just order one and if you don't get it then just go buy yourself another 40oz. no big deal! wats the point of clarifying the misprice with SONY, don't you know its a pricing error. The only people that don't know its a pricing error is SONY. If no one told em' and lets say 10,000 or even 25,000 orders were placed, then SONY would definately compensate in some sort of way, don't you think...?? If they don't, there will be a lot of MAD people mad at SONY.

If I get this deal I will send $50 flooz that I made from american greetings to the originator of this deal! But again, I'll prolly just buy some beer with that money instead, we'll see

Naw, I don't think this (awesome) board is inferior to me. It's just that (slow) 1% you mentioned - I felt I had to explain myself to.

Thanks for the explanation about the golden 'impossible dream'. I am sorry (now) to have been the one to have burst their bubble (unrealistic as it was).

I know, I didn't kill the deal. I just passed the news on to you that Sony was already aware of their error and they wouldn't ship. But some of the less perceptive and greedy individuals here like to have someone to blame. And you are right about another thing - it is late and I need my beauty sleep.

Okay, here's the deal. Anytime you see a good deal, and I know this was a really really good deal. Call and ask them if they are sure they want to sell it for that price. You know like with the Sony Clies. It wasn't until everyone started calling that this was killed. I was lucky enough to get one before that happened. So, like I said before if you see a good deal, don't post it here until you've at least confirmed you are getting it.

Clear as mud.......I wouldn't have even posted until I got a shipped notice. That way at least you got the hot deal before it was spoiled. Be greedy, at least you get what you want. I didn't post the Sony Clie deal until I had my share. I was glad to see others were able to get the same deal.
