Yes but... Since DS is backwards compatible with GBA and GBC, games were plentiful. Not to mention they are in $30 range versus close to $50 for PSP. There is an adaptor for DS that will turn DS into movie and MP3 player which can be had for ~$30 that uses much cheaper CF cards, instead of MS Duo. Looks like I'll have to wait for about a year when there are plenty of used PSP's and games.

YES I would like to know as well. If this is true I am going to sell my ipod and buy a psp ASAP

This is what I was talking about. This is a DS adaptor, not PSP. With PSP I do not see why can't you use the regulsl Memory Stick. Sure, it's longer and will stick out, but it's much cheaper then Duo.

Nintendo has said they're making one themselves and that it will work for both the DS and GBA SP. Haven't heard anything more though, and I've actually since heard rumors that Nintendo may or may not be making another handheld different than the DS and GBA this year, so who knows whats going on.

Yes they actually made one themselves, however it use Smart Media cards (the largest one you can get is only 128mb) and was extremely limited to the number of video and audio formats it supported.

True, Nintendo is working on a new handheld which as I understand will be released alongside their next gen console or around that time.

It won't work with PSP. You need memory stick DUO. It can be pro or regular but pro comes in bigger capacity sizes and is faster.

Memory stick prices are expensive compared to other flash media but expect prices to come down sharply as demand for these increases due to PSP. Also memory prices in general are expected to fall further this year so the longer you can wait the better.

I don't mind memory sticks as I own two Sony digicams and one recorder and now PSP. I can always use more spare memory sticks in my Sony F717 camera. I bought 512mb duo for $69 shipped and will be using that to hold me over until 1 gig card prices come down.
