I was able to add it to my cart just before it sold out, but I ended up not getting it. It is a good price though. I just don't see my self buying movies in another format(UMD). Don't get me wrong, I love the PS2 and the PSP looks great, but I hate it when Sony comes up with their own proprietary media/format and wants everybody to "buy" into it.

I've read in the Playstation magazine there are ways of ripping movies changing it to the format that the psp uses and putting it on a memory stick to watch the movie, it's said witht he compression that you could fit 2 movies on a 512MB stick.

According to the review at bjorn3d, the memory still only plays back movies at 320x240 anyways. I could usually fit 2 regular length (90 minutes each) 320x240 movies on one 512MB card for my Axim x3i.Originally posted by: Noirish
MP4 format.
If you want somewhat descent quality, 512mb will house one movie.

I heard that these use proprietary memory sticks and that the DVD movies are only available on proprietary Sony devices. Does anyone know if this is true?
