Hi all
I need some help from anyone using any of these 2 LCD Panels. They're almost comparable in price @ BB after rebates.

How are they i.e. ghosting, streaking. I don't play anything much beyond RTS and DVDs so I really don't need really hi response time. I need it more for the sake of replacing the soon to depart Philips 17" Monitor which some of you may have read in another thread.

Can't afford anything more. So please don't suggest pricier monitors too. Sorry, I would like them too but since no one reviews these, the only one I've seen reviewed is the 151V @ Gideontech. So personal usage input would really be helpful.

Thanks

16ms owns them both

if the samsung is the one i'm thinking of, its atleast 30ms, has a wide bezel which is annoying for future dualmonitor, is kinda ugly, has less contrast ratio etc.

i have the 567s, its very good. don't buy old gen tech, its already obsolete

I have the Samsung 151V and love it. Ive said this before and Ill say it again, by far the best investment in my computer ive made yet. It looks great, good colors, and very little noticeable ghosting. I would give it a 10/10. Good luck with the decision.

Both are last year old models.
How cheap can you get?
If it's not really a hot deal, don't consider them.

Check out the new Samsung 151N.

Kingofcomputer dude,
when u r a student who is supporting a family on a university stipend, u do the best u can

i know u may be able to get the best u want; some of us can't.

i can only afford what the local BB stocks with direct 3 year walk in replacement. i need it for that long and after that philips screwing i can't afford to have another shipping fiasco of every couple of months sending it in. as for waiting another coupla months for the next gen. i would like to but this monitor is dying pure and simple. either i spend the money to rma it in every month or two for the next 3 months until the next generation of monitors arrives at BB or i do the best i can.

i hate it when ppl start slinging things about other ppl being cheap. how about u donate the amount i'm spending for this monitor to charity monthly for the next 3 months (namely me and other students supporting families) and then you can come post that cheap remark. ok...?

I have the Sony S51. Owned it for over a year now and havent had any problems with it. I'm a gaming person and when I first transitioned over from a 21" Viewsonic CRT, it was sorta weird, but after a couple days of use, the LCD grew on me. I don't notice any ghosting in CS or any other games I play but some of my friends who watch me play say they notice slight trailing, I guess I'm just used to it and can't see it anymore. Movies are never a problem, its just those FPS games that bugs my friends sometimes when I move too fast. The Sony looks real nice, haven't had any dead pixel problems yet and I'd recommend it. You might wanna check dell.com when they have coupons. I paid about $320 shipped over a year ago when it was $500 at BB. The Sony rebate is valid on orders from dell.com, I received my rebate check within 3 weeks of mailing it.

no it isn't that cheap, but that's how i got my 17" philips previously. coz of all those rebates and the lowest priced flat crt monitor at that time with good reviews. but terrible robustness. now i prefer to trust ppl who have used them for some time rather than all this i own this, so u shld get it. i make up my mind and then i ask ppl on which they have seen. i know the possibilities but after getting screwed by the monitor reliabilityand reading all the reasons for the possibilities, i now don't trust reviews on greatest but no one knows how good they are. thanks guys

Buy Planar from Dell (often has hot deals), Planar offers 3 years warranty with 2-day air shipping and return pre-paid.
