it's $134 to my door!!!

It's usually $199 in stores.

Ugg got it up to 2330 points, but it took a while! Emailing your wish list to yourself seemed to be good for 1000! Now to decide if this sub is good enough, or if I'll just want another later. Was looking at the 250 watt JBL....

This sub has a bit of a "cult" following--it's been measured down to 20hz, which is a pretty amazing response for a sub in this price range. Definitely the best I've listened to anywhere close to this price. I was looking at other subs in the $500+ range, and decided to just pick up one of these and spend the money I saved elsewhere. Very highly rated sub for the money, and this is a very hot price. Someone said it's $134 delivered, so even the shipping is a hot deal.

Just a really good design at a really fair price. If you're looking to put together a decent surround system on a budget, this is definitely the sub for you. It's certainly added plenty of punch to my home system.

Check your favorite Home Theater forum and do a search on "SA-WM40"... you'll see what I mean.

WHOA. I used to have this sub and it was, wow, an incredible deal. Sounded really great too. I sold it this summer because I found a killer deal on a Velodyne though.

Wow, it took around 30 minutes of clicking around frantically to get up over 2,000 points. That sub looks pretty sweet...

For 1,000 quick points, "Invite your friends." E.g. bob1@aol.com, bob2@aol.com, bob3@aol.com etc. Also, if you can "View the archived newsletters" that can be a quick 1,500 or 2,000 points. Unfortunately, they cannot be viewed on this computer. I tried both Netscape and IE, and whenever I click on the link to open up a newsletter, a window pops up and then closes very quickly.

Creating a wishlist nets you 1000 points, log off and on again to get 500 points for first log in. The rest, go to home, click on all the "more sony links", vote in survey, click on all the sweepstakes, and you should be well over or extremely close to 2000 points. Just use the send wishlist to friend or invite friend make up the rest of the rest of the points.

Ordered this sub last night, since we needed one of these for the living room. $134 (with tax) and shipping included is a hot deal!

20Hz, I HIGHLY doubt it. Whoever measured that must have done something wrong. I highly doubt this sub will do anything below 35Hz, and if so it would be with little output.

I have to agree, pop this sucker open and stuff her full of poly (bag and a half of med density (Ithink) from wally world for like 2 bux "tightens" this sucker up and sounds awesome!
I think this has been called best sub under $300, and is 2x the best sub for 135!

It's been measured down to 20 (by experts), but is really only "clean" down to 25. The polyfill mod is definitely recommended--it tightens things up quite a bit, especially for music.

There are certainly better subs that can be had, but this one is a great value for the dollar. For audiosnobs--errr--audiophiles who spend their lives reading "Stereo Review" and pretentiously declaring their ability to hear audio down to 20Hz and up to 20kHz, this would simply never do. "These aren't the subs you're looking for. You can go about your business. Move along. Move along."

ITS ROCKS. It was in my dorm last year and you could hear it 3 floors down and 3 floors up plus the whole floor shook. Loved to be told to turn it down

Its now in my philly apt and is still rockin!!!!!

BTW, i have 1/4" sheet polyfill. I still havent done the mod but what kind of difference will i hear? Also clarify what i should do to put it in? I havent read up on it since last year

As for doing mods to the sub, what's the easiest way to be able to dump some fill into it? Do you take the speaker actually out or get in there some other way? And how tight do you pack it if at all? I'm using mine as it came out of the box but if it's only a couple bucks to make it ever better, heck.

Glad everyone is getting in on this.

Actually using one right now, with the polyfill stuffed in it. Makes a huge difference, its much tighter.

I can absolutely get it to play at 20hz, in fact if I do it for any extended amount of time stuff will start falling off my walls. It certainly isnt at loud at 20 as it is at 30 or 40, but its there.

To stuff the polyfill in it, you have to screw off the driver. Stuff it in there, and make sure not to block the port. You dont have to use retail polyfill or anything, personally, I'm using an old pillow.

the jbl nsp-1 (older version/edition) are cheap at ~$200 or so. no need to buy the newer version since it is mostly cosmetic changes. check the net for the good prices
