Not sure if the deal is dead or not...

My story...

I purchased this laptop from Best Buy on Sunday for $1699 (with 2x$100 rebates). The bonehead salesman I had wouldn't pricematch the Sears price of $1599.

I went to a different Best Buy the next day with the Sears.com printout in hand showing the $1599 price. No problem, they matched the price plus 10%. Current price of laptop $1589 (with 2X$100 rebates).

I see the Customer Appreciation 10% off sale at Sears.com late Tuesday night. Add the item to the Sears.com cart and it shows as $1599 but total shows as $1439. I thought great and printed it out.

This morning (Wednesday), I recheck the Sears.com website and notice they jacked the price back up to $1799. Bummer. But I still had my printouts so I said "What the hell, I'll give it a shot." I goto Best Buy, the return clerk looks over my documentation, calls her manager, then proceeds to call Sears. I thought, "oh well, it was worth a try". Next thing I know, she says" $1599? ok, and you also have 10% percent off that correct? Ok thanks, goodbye."

Bingo, I'm golden! So my Sony Gr370 cost me $1699 - $110 - $165= $1424 plus 2x$100 rebates ===== $1224 plus tax.

An extremely nice price on a great notebook.

P.S. Be sure to get the laptop at Best Buy or Circuit City with a PM, they have the additional $100 store rebate.
