owning sony laptops is like a love-hate relationship. THe dnovel design is always awesome but when it comes to service, FORget about it. SONY's customer service is non-existant. I own a z505le and I love it for its portability but a fricking cdrom costs 270 bucks

That's what I have heard, some of the best designs which rival even Apple Computer's PowerBook G4 Titantium but customer service is non-existant, good luck! I would rather buy a loaded Dell Inspiron 8000 and they're currently offering a free DVD upgrade, $100 off and $100 if a former Dell customer refers you.

Well i'm jealous... wished i could spring for a new notebook, a Sony to boot. I personally like Sony and Fujitsu notebooks the best aesthetically.

If you're doing video editing make sure it at least has Premier LE on it because the Sony Movie Shaker is pretty weak.

Might want to spring for the "k" versions. They are pre-loaded with windows 2000, better choice if your getting into 3d animation and or high level video editing.

Quality from what I've seen is top notch, as long as you find one with no dead pixels.
