I just bought this Sony vaio and here are the specs with aftermarkets in bold. Aftermarkets were done by a third party who I have contacted, but haven't heard from yet.
80GB Intel X25-M SSD Upgrade
2.93GHz 6MB 1066MHz T9800 CPU
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium (64 Bit)
512MB ATI Radeon HD 3650
4 GB DDR2 SDRAM
BD ROM DVD+-R Double Layer/DVD+-RW Drive
Those are the basic specs. The laptop freezes almost within 10 minutes on desktop and going on the internet seems to speed it up. When I first got the laptop the last stages of setup even froze and I had to reinstall the OS using the recovery CDs I was given. (Don't have a true copy of windows Vista).
I ran a burn in program that stressed all aspects of the laptop and that had no problems running and completing (15 min). I also used Sony's diagnostic software on boot up to run more hardware tests and nothing shows up as having problems.
The laptop freezes during OS install (but sometimes it gets past it), it freezes on setting the user specific install stuff on the OS setup like time, etc. It freezes using the internet, and even just changing settings sometimes.
This kind of random freezing to me almost seems like a bad ram stick, so I am going to try and swap out one and see what happens.
Any Ideas?
