Sony Wegas (36'') at Costco B&M

Kinda warm if you are looking to buy a 36'' Wega. They have two 36'' models:

KV36XBR450 for $1999 (usually retails for $2499)
KV36FS17 for $1250 (usually retails for $1399)

I got in on the Samsung deal, but it turned out to be a lemon, so it's going back and I may have to pick up one of these instead. I am really looking for 32'' Wega,
but Costco does not seem to be carrying them.

Go easy if you don't think this is at least warm.

Just a smarta$$ clarification that this is 36" and not 36'......unless you are talking about a movie screen...hehe...

What do you mean it was a lemon? Was it damaged, did you buy a display? I am asking because I am having a friend drive one to me from a store on the East Coast.

geekender, my bad, fixed it

brj8826, i bought a boxed one (the store where I bought mine still has the display model, so I may get that one if the manager is willing to knock out $200 or so) but it has color problems.
it works fine when i first turn it on, but after a while, it would start flickering with different colors for some reason. i know this is an isolated incident since i couldn't find any similar problems related to this tube.
the hard thing about letting this one go is that it's got AWESOME pictures. I would rather keep it, but can't with the color problem. like i said, i will try to see if the manager is willing to sell the display one at a discount.

Why not get Samsung to fix/replace it?

With a problematic tube that's less than a week old, I would rather return it instead of having it fixed. I could get it fixed, but that just doesn't feel right... I don't know, it's probably just me...

Well I wouldn't want a 'fixed' tv as well. But maybe Samsung would out right replace it since you only had it such a short period. But that's only if they still carry this line. It's just such a good deal. But even the 34" 16x9 seems small so I myself would pass on this deal. Just a suggestion as I never really like demo products too much.

They also have the 40"er for $3000 - ok price, but can be achieved at local retailers as well. Also they did not seem to have the almost mandatory stand - which usually retails for $500 - a good breal on that one would make it a hot deal..
