Sony Z4 finally announced

Expansys USA has them at $580 and $375. What shop do you normally use?

There are several versions, including different colors, but it ranges from $470-580. But even if you go with the 6603 (that's the one Sony sells on their site as unlocked), which I can get from Sony for $535 with a corporate discount.

Also, most people get them through carriers. It's still a pain to get unlocked phones in this country. Up until this point, I've just gotten Nexus phones.

Just get the S6. It'll have better battery life, better display, better camera, better performance and better build quality.

Buying anything other than an S6 is a mistake.

Sony phones are such snoozers. I can't believe the HTC m9 gets so much 'heat' (heh) for having the same design year after year but Sony is notorious for this. not to mention a mid-range hardware for a flagship price.

It's got a much bigger battery than the S6 as well though.

Pulling a guess out I reckon that the Z4 will edge the S6 in battery life in a lot of scenarios.

I think the issue is that HTC comes back every year with the same design feature that people hate (black band). Get rid of that, and I think they'll get by without most of the hate.

Also, midrange hardware? I could see that on the Z3 with the 805 towards the end of the 805 cycle and the upcoming 810, but I don't see anything falling behind the other phones aside from the 1080p screen. But I think that is a positive.

Comments regarding the processor don't seem that bad. Things may not be as bad as we all feared. Perhaps it is the processor's fault for the battery life, or it could be HTC.

Yes, and the M9 also had a much bigger battery than the S6 at 2,840 mAH, which is awfully close to the Z4's battery capacity.

Whatever the reason, our testing of real phones with these SoCs in them shows that 810-based phones are slower and have worse battery life.
