Sony's PSP?

I heard on the radio on my way to work this morning that Sony was going to officially launch their PSP handheld device. I'm highly interested in this piece of gadgetry, and from what I've heard it's going to be revolutionary. PS2 in a handheld? Wow. Movies and music wherever you go? Nice.

I saw a mock-up image of the thing, but I'm more interested in seeing something concrete. Does anyone know how big the screen will be on this thing?

Actually, it will be more like a PS1 not PS2

Actually, it will be more like a PS1 not PS2

Actually, it's supposed to have graphical power of that between a PS1 and PS2. From what I've read (please note I've seen no actual screenshots), one of the launch titles will be Gran Turismo, and it supposedly looks identiical to Gran Turismo 3 on the PS2 :Q. This is purely what I've read, though.

What I've heard also is that graphics will be up to par of the Ps2, but they could look better since the screen is a lot smaller (And widescreen!!!!)

I'll be definitely eyeing it....

Unless I'm imagining things, the specs of the PSP looked a little bit better than those of the PS2. For example, it uses a 333mhz CPU as opposed to the 300mhz CPU of the PS2. It also has more graphics memory IIRC. I'm not sure about the graphics chip tho.

How is Sony going to keep this thing from overheating? And what about battery life? Most laptop computers are dead after an hour of gaming. And the price?

I think those are the potential achille's heels of the PSP.
