I guess I have quite a different, very visceral feeling about someone's house being assaulted, versus someone out in public getting harrassed. Although I don't find this particularly funny, other than the "someone was behind this" statement

Soros is a predatory capitalist who's currency manipulations have destroyed millions of lives. My opinion of him is well documented on this board. IMO he deserved what he got, the former soviet block one of the places he harmed extensively with his market manipulations.

Smacking someone in the face with whipped cream doesn't really show any malice, IMO. Pouring glue on someone or blood in the case of the PETA people wrt to furs or going to someones private residence and tresspassing, etc all cross the line between protest and zealotry. We have relatively bloodless, peaceful coups every couple of years in this country as the electoral process allows us to swap out parts of the .gov. I would prefer to keep it that way as long as possible.

Actually, I semi-agree with you Dave. I don't find it funny, but not because I find it abhorrent, it just doesn't tickle my funny bone. If someone does, I'm not going to condemn them for it...diferent strokes and all that. Like you though, I wouldn't want to see someone smile at this yet frown at the Rove incident.

And UQ - I agree to a point. Protesting can cross the line and this *may* have crossed that but it's still humorous. Yes the point could be made that they invaded his personal privacy or property by dumping glue on him but that isn't quite the same as tresspassing and invading someone's property - there is a big difference. Also I agree with your .gov statement.

Meh - I think people are having an etech moment (sorry etech, it's too easy ) And I guess people have different levels of tolerance for these sorts of things. I don't condone it, would never do it myself, but I can find some humor in it.

Yeah, his currency manipulations have destroyed lives. How so? There are plenty of currency traders, most of them are not as philantropic and charitable as this man is. He even helps the less publicized cases, such as the inhumane treatments of many Gypsies in Europe. Europeans have absolutely no problems bashing the U.S. in its treatment of blacks, but fail to mention the Neo-Nazi groups, Government officials, and police that actively particpate in modern day pogroms, redlining, and unfair imprisonment of the Romani people. The two Ukranian men were probably fascists for all we know.
