Now does someone know a voodoo ritual to bring ram prices back down?

Cool, thanks for the tip. Sorry bout the RAM prices - I feel yer pain. I languished for a long time with a Dell 8200 with RDRAM (I don't think those prices have dropped yet!)

Yup,

Just found the rebate link on FW and it expired on 9/11/06.

So congrats to those of you who got in on this and the rest of us looky-loos will have to wait for the next deal!

Thanks again OP

you know you say this like its a horrible thing

i cant buy a 6600GT for 58$ so ill settle for a slightly better card for 58$

well i only pointed it out because a bunch of people higher up in teh thread were saying its faster than a 6800GS.

its is definitely not 25% faster than a 6600gt. i have had both, and the memory bandwidth on the 6600gt basically makes up for its having less pipes. it totally depends on what you are trying to play anyway.

i would assume these overclock higher, all i was pointing out was its not a 7600GT. it was a very hot deal .

Read the last post and thought I'd better make sure the card worked. Pulled the old card out and installed new card with cd in drive and off it went . It took minutes to have it up and running...

just got mine today. Did anyone else get an unusual UPC sticker? Looks like there was a place on the cardboard box for it, but mine has a cutout where it should have been, and my UPC is a sticker stuck on the outside of the plastic wrap. I forsee problems with the rebate.....

nevermind, I read the rebate form, they want the proof of purchase from the side panel, and not the UPC.

I still forsee problems because my PNY card didn't have a UPC on the box but instead had a "proof of purchase" that was asked for by the rebate form (including a little sample picture). Well, rebate got denied for "missing UPC." Tried resubmitting THREE TIMES to no avail.

well, looks like there are some problems with this card and certain chipsets. Mine will not work at all on a Tforce6100-754 or a Tforce6100-AM2, but it will work on my main PC, an Asus A8N-E. Looking at the reviews on Newegg, there are 2 posts about problems like this. I tried my Evga 6800GS on the Tforce boards, and it works. My bios on the Tforce boards only has auto or "always on" for the video choices. Maybe it's bios related.

yup i had the exact same problem would not work with my asus 6150 motherboard, works fine on my DFI NF4 motherboard.

I guess it does not like the 6100 series chipset.

mine scored a 3888 in 3dmark05 at stock 400/800, and a 4464 in 3dmark05 at 550core/850ram

You guys know more than I about video cards. I'll probably use the Fuzion in my A8N-E PC, and move the Evga 6800GS to my AM2 PC. How much of a hit in performance will I take by using the Fuzion instead of the 6800GS?
Thanks

i may have found a solution for this

my board is a tforce 939 board and i was getting random freezes and other issues with this card. I did lots of reading on the subject and found that if you use the 91.29 beta drivers all is well.

i went and found them and installed them now everything is fine

just fyi

this thread reminds me a whole lot of the 3dfuzion 6200 pci deals that people were posting earlier.
i am saying if it works, great. if it don't, don't blame self, blame 3dfuzion
when does newegg have a really good deal on something for a week or more? noticing they can't even keep the prices to match with their advertised topics in hot deals... and also nearly everytime someone posts a hot deal from them here, the price mysteriously goes up... they know something we don't

Well, I just ran the card in my Asus A8N-E, 4200X2, 2GB Corsair ram PC. I had it on High settings playing BF2. Pretty darn nice. I'll have to measure the FPS next
